Conjugate Method Logbook
Conjugate Method Logbook
Max-effort and dynamic-effort day tracking with ME rotation and band/chain accommodating resistance fields.

Why this logbook
Built specifically for Conjugate Method
The Conjugate Method (a.k.a. Westside Barbell) rotates max-effort work weekly on specialty variations (box squat, cambered bar bench, rack pulls) to avoid accommodation, while dynamic-effort days train speed strength with accommodating resistance (bands and chains). This is the most complex training system in strength sports and the logbook demands are uniquely brutal: you're not logging the same lift every week, so you need a running ME variation rotation log spanning 3-4 weeks per movement. You're also tracking bar weight + band tension + chain weight separately for accurate loading. Ours handles all of it.
Conjugate-specific tracking: an ME rotation log (e.g., Week 1 Box Squat, Week 2 Front Squat, Week 3 Cambered Bar Good Morning, Week 4 SSB Squat), a dynamic-effort speed log with bar path notes, a band tension and chain weight calculator so loading is accurate, and a repetition-effort accessory day tracker for the high-rep hypertrophy work Louie prescribed. It's also common to track rate-of-perceived exertion on the accessory block since Westside's assistance work is failure-driven.

Real lifters
What they're saying
“First week phone-free I hit a 15-pound bench PR. Turns out I was never actually pushing to failure because my focus lived on Instagram.”

“Rest timers dropped from five minutes of scrolling to focused 90-second resets. Twice the work, same session time. Plateau gone.”

“Six months in ForgeLogbooks delivered more strength than my previous two years combined. The spreads keep me honest.”

Frequently asked
Conjugate Method logbook questions
How do I track max-effort variation rotation?+
Each ME day logs the variation used (e.g., Cambered Bar Bench), the top set weight/reps, and which variation is coming next week. After 3-4 weeks you rotate to a new variation to avoid accommodation — the logbook makes the rotation visible.
What about bands and chains?+
Each set has a bar weight row plus separate fields for band tension (at top and bottom) and chain weight. You capture total load accurately without doing mental math.
Is this suited for raw or equipped lifters?+
Both. Westside was built for multi-ply equipped lifters but the conjugate principles work raw. The equipment log lets you record what you wore.
Does it support the 4-day Westside template (ME-Lower, ME-Upper, DE-Lower, DE-Upper)?+
Yes — that's the default layout. You can also configure 3-day variants if you train less frequently.
What about GPP and sled work?+
Each week has a GPP/conditioning notes section for sled drags, prowler pushes, and restoration work that Westside considers non-negotiable.
